The Woman’s Body

(Written from a new mother’s perspective)

I got my lips and mouth,
Through which I sucked,
From the breasts,
Of my mother.

Below that I got,
My own breasts,
Which my daughter,
Sucks now.

Below it is my navel,
Through which I was fed,
While my mother carried,
Me in her womb.

Below that is,
My own womb,
In which I,
Carried my daughter.

All which I,
Got from my mother,
I gave back,
To my daughter.

And all separated,
By roughly the,
Same number,
Of inches.
